How to get to Fjätervålen
Fjätervålen is located in the northern Dalarna mountains on the border with Härjedalen. It is 25 km to Idre Fjäll and 38 km to Lofsdalen.
By car
- From Stockholm via Mora (road 70) to Särna. Then take road 311 to Fjätervålen. Distance 460 km. Travel time approx. 5.5 hours
- From Gothenburg (road 45) to Sälen. Then take road 311 via Särna to Fjätervålen. Distance 550 km. Travel time approx. 6.5 hours
- From Oslo via Trysil, Sälen, Särna to Fjätervålen. Distance 330 km. Travel time approx. 4 hours.
- From Sundsvall via Ånge, Sveg, Lofsdalen to Fjätervålen. Distance 310 km. Travel time approx. 4 hours.
Fjätervålen-Idre
Free Ski Bus
From December 26 to April 26, you can take a free bus between Fjätervålen, Idre Fjäll, Idre Himmelfjäll, and Idre village. Buy our joint ski pass, the “Idre Pass,” and you’ll be able to ski at all three resorts.

Masexpressen´s buses serves Fjätervålen this winter
Now you can take the bus all the way to us. Masexpressen operates Stockholm-Avesta-Hedemora-Falun-Rättvik-Mora throughout the winter season. Do you live in other locations? Check out connecting trains/buses to one of the stops.
The bus only stops at the facility, so keep in mind to book accommodation close to the facility.
