40TH ANNIVERSARY
December 23 marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of Fjätervålens Skidlift, now Fjätervålen AB. We want to celebrate this milestone, of course, and on December 23 we will treat everyone to cake and après-ski.
There will also be special anniversary offers throughout the season. Don’t miss our anniversary cake in the inn! See current offers here
LOCAL SHOP OPEN 6 AM-11 PM
As we are still a small ski resort, it is sometimes challenging to have very generous opening hours. For this reason, we are converting our current local shop into an unstaffed shop, which means that our guests will be able to shop from early morning to late evening and will not have to adapt to any opening hours. You open the door with your BankID, scan the items you want, and pay conveniently via Swish or card.
We will have staff on site for a few hours each day for those who may not have access to BankID or need assistance.
SOAPSTONES EVENING
This winter, we will be offering cozy carving stone evenings. We will serve a buffet with sirloin steak, sauces, salad, bread, whipped butter, and a hot carving stone. Guests can cook the meat for as long as they like and eat it with the sauce and side dishes of their choice. Vegetarian options are available.

NEW SUSTAINABLE ACTIVITY IN COLLABORATION WITH SÄRNA ADVENTURE
Fjätervålen has entered into a partnership with Särna Adventure, run by nature guide Daniel Modigh. Daniel will offer snowshoe hiking, outdoor cooking, and outdoor workshops based at Fjätervålen. Visitors will learn the art of making really good campfire coffee, baking waffles over an open fire, carving wooden spoons, and building fires.

NEW PARTNERSHIP FOR DOG SLED TOURS
This winter, we have a new partner, Sälen Hund & Aktivitet. Ulrika is a driven and dedicated entrepreneur in the field of dog sledding experiences.
ENSURING EARLIER OPENING OF PRIORITY SLOPES
This winter, we are increasing the number of outlets to streamline and concentrate snow production on priority slopes. This means that we can ensure an earlier opening of, among other things, the upper part of Örnen, which is our main slope.
ARTIFICIAL SNOW TRACK
This season, we are adding an artificial snow track of approximately 2 km starting from the facility. The loop will follow parts of the existing illuminated track and will be ready by December 22 when the facility opens. We are also continuing to develop our cross-country technique park, which will be located right next door.
NEW BARBECUE AREA
We are building a new barbecue area by the lift, next to the storage sheds. By next winter, we will add two built-in rest areas with tables and benches under a roof.
SMOOTHER LIFT PASSAGE
This winter, we are investing in new gates for our drag lifts. This will mean smoother and faster passage, and the gates are also prepared for new technology such as mobile payment.
NEW ADJUSTED TIMETABLE FOR THE SKI BUS
Our popular ski bus allows our guests to travel easily and free of charge between the various ski resorts in Idre and Grövelsjön. The bus service was launched last winter thanks to a collaboration between Destinationsutveckling Idre (Fjätervålen, Idre Fjäll, Idre Himmelfjäll, and Grövelsjöfjällens tourist association), MasExpressen, Dalälvarnas Utvecklingsområde, and locally led development Leader and Jordbruksverket.
For the winter of 23/24, the bus will have a slightly revised timetable. It will run between Fjätervålen, Idre Fjäll, and Idre Himmelfjäll every day of the week and two days a week to and from Grövelsjön.
