From Stockholm via Mora (road 70) to Särna. Then take road 311 to Fjätervålen. Distance 460 km. Travel time approx. 5.5 hours.
From Gothenburg (road 45) to Sälen. Then road 311 via Särna to Fjätervålen. Distance 550 km. Travel time approx. 6.5 hours.
From Oslo via Trysil, Sälen, Särna to Fjätervålen. Distance 330 km. Travel time approx. 4 hours.
From Sundsvall via Ånge, Sveg, Lofsdalen to Fjätervålen. Distance 310 km. Travel time approx. 4 hours.
Help us to be more sustainable and conserve energy!
- The sauna, oven, and drying cabinet CANNOT be used at the same time due to excessive load on the main fuse.
- The water heater does not have unlimited capacity, so we recommend that you do not all shower at the same time if there are many of you in the cottage.
- Only leave the drying cabinet on for the time required to dry clothes/shoes.
- Use the dishwasher if available. It uses up to four times less energy than washing by hand.
- If necessary, ventilate smartly, for a short time, and turn off the radiators while doing so.
- Turn off electrical appliances such as the TV when not in use.
- Turn off lights when leaving a room or the cottage.
- Put a lid on the saucepan and save 80% energy.
- Unplug devices when not charging. Today, 2/3 of energy goes to chargers
that are not charging. - Wash full loads in the washing machine. Running a half-full machine uses almost the same amount of electricity as a full load.

Charging electric or hybrid cars
This is NOT permitted in engine heater sockets or electrical sockets inside the cottage due to the risk of fire.
Charging stations are available at the ski shop and at several cottages.
Payment is usually made via Easy Park, so please download their app before you arrive.
Departure cleaning
Let us take care of the cleaning so you can relax throughout your stay.
Add departure cleaning to your online booking or contact us at bokning@fjatervalen.se or by phone at 0253-211 43 no later than 3 p.m. three days before departure.
NOTE Check-out is no later than 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
Waste sorting
Waste is sorted and disposed of at our recycling station, which you will find at the entrance, to the right of the road, as you drive up to the facility. There are bins for combustible waste, compost, plastic, glass, metal, and returnable cans/PET bottles, as well as a battery collection box. Read more here >>
Waxing skis
You can wax your skis outdoors or in our waxing shed by the ski shop. In our ski shop, our certified staff can give you tips and help with sharpening, waxing, and molding soles for your boots.
Deposit
Help us protect the environment and leave your cans and PET bottles in the igloos and containers located around the facility. All proceeds from the deposit will go to youth activities in Idre & Särna SK this year.
Check-in/Check-out
Check-in is no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival.
Check-out is no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure, when you clean the accommodation yourself.
Please If you have chosen to book departure cleaning, check-out is at 10:00 a.m.
Cars must be moved from the accommodation to public parking lots after check-out.
Emergency
For urgent matters concerning heating, electricity, and water/sewage, call our emergency number at 010-150 74 50.
The emergency number is staffed every day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., except on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, when it is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
